Women are the staple of horror and actress, Jamie Lee Curtis, reigns supreme as THE Scream Queen for most genre fans. The horror icon, who made her debut in John Carpenter’s Halloween, is finally making a convention appearance and it will be her last. Curtis will be at this year’s HorrorHound weekend in Indianapolis from November 16-18, giving horror fans the opportunity to finally meet and greet Laurie Strode herself.
Curtis will be the guest of honor at this year’s HorrorHound convention which will be held at the Indianapolis Marriot East in Indiana. The actress will be appearing both Saturday and Sunday signing autographs, taking photos, as well as participating in a Q&A session with fans.
So what made Curtis FINALLY decide to come to a convention filled with the people who love her? Charity. The scream queen will be donating all of her profits to the Starlight Children’s Foundation and a part of the proceeds from HorrorHound weekend will be donated as well.
Curtis wanted to stress that this convention appearance will be her first and ONLY one because she will be retiring directly after. Retiring? How can you retire from something you’ve barely done and why retire when you can be making bank? I guess she’s been too busy with her Activia commercials and shitting on the toilet to actually make an appearance at more conventions.
The actress, the daughter of Janet Leigh (Psycho), made a career for herself in the 80s with horror classics such as, The Fog, Prom Night, and Terror Train. Tickets to meet the star will be sold in advance so that fans will be certain to see her. Ticket information will be made available next month on the HorrorHound Website.
This is obviously exciting news for horror fans and I may have to book some tickets to go to Indianapolis! Will you be attending HorrorHound weekend?
