Paramount confirmed that moviegoers can expect to see a “Paranormal Activity 4” sometime in 2012. In a press release, released yesterday, Paramount stated:
“In 2012, Paramount’s release slate highlights include World War Z, a zombie thriller starring Brad Pitt and directed by Marc Forster, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, the next installment in the global franchise starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Channing Tatum, a new chapter in the Paranormal Activity franchise, and The Dictator, starring Sacha Baron Cohen and directed by Larry Charles, the team behind Borat.”
Although Paranormal Activity was simply grazed over, the fourth film will most likely come out around Halloween, which Paramount has done with the previous three films.
The third film in the franchise, a prequel showcasing how the paranormal activity began, made around $108 million dollars in the US. The film helped Paramount become the top earning production company in 2011.
I still have not seen the third film and I’ve heard good things about it. I’m not sure where Paramount will take the series but I think that if they keep going with it, it will become drawn out and venture into “Saw” territory.
How do you feel about a “Paranormal Activity 4”?
