After seeing the original “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” the sound of an old camera as it reloads is one that will always send shivers down my spine. In the new trailer for the remake, Silent House, starring Elizabeth Olsen (I’ll always remember her as Lizzie, Mary-Kate and Ashley’s baby sis), the terrifying and simple sound can be heard throughout, along with Olsen’s blood-curdling screams.
The film, in theaters March 9, follows a young girl (Olsen) who gets trapped inside her family’s secluded lake house, unable to contact the outside world for help, as she is terrorized by an ominous force in and around her home.
Silent House is a remake of the Spanish film, La Casa Muda, and is directed by Open Water‘s Chris Kentis and Laura Lau. Not much is revealed in the trailer, other than the fact that it looks super creepy.
Olsen has proven herself to be a talented actress and her appearance in the trailer alone has me wanting to see this film. I don’t know much about the original, but I do love films where the protagonist is terrorized in the one place they consider the safest–their home. I also did enjoy Open Water, and I am excited to see what directors Kentis and Lau have done with this film.
Are you excited to see Silent House, in theaters this March?
